Ninet de Pena Rouge 2014


A pleasant red as an aperitif wine and round enough to be enjoyed with most dishes this is a good example of a red Côtes Catalanes wine from Chateau de Pena.  A wine to be enjoyed young.

Tasting Notes: Intense red colour with a nose of red berries with a subtle note of mint.  The palate is slightly sweet in attack that develops to a keen fruity flavour with a subtle streak of tanins
Classification: IGP Côtes Catalanes
Grape: Grenache 85% Carignan 15%
Strength: 13.5%
Serve at: 13°C
Serve with: As an aperitif or to accompany meats and cheeses.
Soil: Marl hills and black schists
Yield: 50 hectolitres/hectare
Cultivation: Traditional methods of pruning and harvesting with entire de-stalking prior to maceration
Vinification: A short low temperature maceration followed by 5 months in concrete tanks on fine lees.
