A nice example of Pena’s Roussillon Villages that has excellent tanins that would allow it to be laid down for 5 to 8 years.

Tasting Notes: Brilliant bejewelled ruby red colour with a nose of assorted black fruits with nuances of violet flowers. The palate gives a silky tanin which opens elegantly to red fruits and liquorice

Grape: Grenache Noir 70% Carignan 20% Syrah 10%
Strength: 14%
Serve at: 16°C
Serve with: Stands up well to a beef entrecôte or rabbit in rosemary
Soil: Black schists and limestone clay
Yield: 30 hectolitres/hectare
Cultivation: Traditional methods of vine management
Vinification: Traditional maceration for 25 to 30 days monitored to completion.  Vinification at an initial 30°C followed by a managed temperature of 20°C to 25°C until the end of the alcoholic fermentation.  Transferred to concrete tanks on the lees for 8 months.
